Elliptical Trainers
The elliptical trainer (also you may hear “cross trainer”) simulates the motion of a treadmill, a bike, a stair-climber and a cross-country skier. These machines can offer a cardiovascular, vigorous workout that is both weight bearing and non-impact. Studies have shown that working out on an elliptical trainer burns calories like running but with less impact than walking.
This equipment is recommended by health and fitness experts for individuals who have difficulty with running due to arthritic changes or injury. There is no impact or jarring to knees hips, joints or lower back.
Total Fitness’ staff will discuss the physiological benefits of the Elliptical Trainers and special features of the models available.
